Sheffield & Hallamshire Motor Club was founded in 1904, and is one of the oldest Motor Clubs in the UK.
HISTORY
Although officially formed in 1904, it’s rumoured that Sheffield & Hallamshire Motor Club was first formed in 1902 as the Sheffield & District Auto Club and had their first meeting on 1st October of that year.
After WW2, we founded the Association of Northern Car Clubs with a number of other clubs in the area. The club, and its members, have been involved in almost every aspect of motorsport. – from Stage rallies to Autotests.
We are celebrating 120 years of our club in 2024
EVENTS
In addition to competing, we also has a rich history of organising events. Although being previously well known for Autotests and Sporting / Production Car Trials, we currently organise Single-Venue stage rallies, TARGA rallies, sprints and, our annual Hope Motor Show.
We are also involved with running some stages on other multi-venue events, (Trackrod, Riponian, Roger Albert Clark), we also lend our expertise to numerous other events throughout the year with our team of marshals, and radio safety operators.
